It’s 3:48am and I am putting the finishing touches to my daisy+bee cupcake toppers. I would much rather be in my cozy bed especially since I’m recovering from dizzy spells (not fun!) and need to sleep more… or maybe that’s just an excuse to sleep more Anywho! I got a last minute order for another cake for Saturday so I’m hustling to get these daisies done.
I’ve been exchanging e-mails with an old high school friend and we’re just catching up on each others’ lives. He asked me what I do and I said that I make designer cakes and work as a marketing consultant for Rocky Mountain. Then he asked, “Isn’t that a lot of work? Don’t you get tired of it?”… I didn’t even have to think TWICE and I said, “When you’re passionate about what you do, it never feels like work“. I’m so wise! Haha
But when the sun is almost rising and your eyelids are heavy… that’s another story!
THIS… is what passion looks like. Half-finished bees with freshly-positioned stingers (picture taken with my phone). Even so, I wouldn’t trade this life for anything!
They’ll look better when they’re done–I PROMISE! I just watched the finale of Masterchef S2 and after the winner was announced, she said, “This is a thousand dreams come true. My family taught me that, to never give up a dream… that if you want it and if you work hard, anything is possible. Doesn’t matter what the nay-sayers say. I’m proof of that“.
If there are nay-sayers in your life, you can tell my bee to sting them!
