Hi everyone! I’ve been taking a mini break from blogging this week to recover from the busyness of the holiday season. But I couldn’t resist doing this last minute order for a university friend. It’s a snare drum! It was fun working with SILVER. I don’t think I’ve ever done it before. My hands are SILVER and shiny! I feel like the tin man… but unlike him, I have a heart (the last time I checked!)…

Thursday, December 30th, 2010Cassava Pudding
Friday, December 24th, 2010I just made a batch of cassava pudding and it is still (after many, many years) my favourite all-time dessert. I can eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner! It’s not a cake and not quite a pudding consistency… it’s sort of in the middle. Did I mention that it is HEAVENLY?
Remember a few posts back, I mentioned that I wanted to give different types of cookies as my gifts for people and not the ones I have in my holiday line (just so it’s special)? Well, I decided to give away cassava pudding instead because it can kick any cookie’s bum any day!
At festive family gatherings, we all fight for the leftover pudding so this year, I’ll be making 2 extra batches and packaging them in cutesy boxes so that we won’t have to battle it out. That’s my gift to everyone! Done.
In other news… how cute are these!?

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010Last Minute Orders
Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010Just when I thought I was done baking for the year, I get a bunch of last-minute orders. I’m not complaining.. I’m quite grateful
I’ve been so busy baking for other peoples’ orders that I forgot to bake for my own gifts… oops! I’m putting together a few gift baskets of my favourite things for other people which includes: Bath and Body Works anti-bacterial soap, dark chocolate from Soma Chocolate and cookies from my holiday edition!
If I had more space, I would include Taylor Swift’s newest CD “Speak Now”, KitchenAid’s Chef’s Chopper Series 3-cup Pink Mini Food Processor and a gift certificate to Chapters.ca. Oops! That’s from my personal wish list… but I’m sure you get the point
Okay… back to work.
WHY is the holiday season so stressful? Have you ever had a stress-free season?

Modern Packaging
Tuesday, December 21st, 2010 I love clean & simple packaging with bright colours. I bought these boxes a few years ago but didn’t have the heart to use them (aka give them away)… until today. I finished the design with contrasting colours to match the snowflake embellishment because the original ribbon colours were quite BLAH. Since these two packages went to the same recipient, the colour combinations worked out perfectly
I’m Still Alive!
Friday, December 17th, 2010Hi Everyone!
For those of you wondering why I haven’t been posting… it’s cause I’m busy baking! And by that, I mean I’ve been buried in a mountain of cookies and have been trying to call for help
I’ve been trying to keep my head on straight with all these orders I’ve been getting and it’s only semi-working! Eek!
I will be posting more this weekend… something exciting is happening
Stay tuned to find out what it is!
ALSO, a reminder… I will be accepting orders until December 31st! (with the exception of Dec 24/25/26… my kitchen-free days)… so late people, you’re in luck!
Check my blog out this weekend to see pictures of my wonderful next project!

Under the Sea
Monday, December 6th, 2010 It’s FINALLY here! The vision I had in my head has been transformed into fondant and cake form
YAY!
I like keeping my projects a secret until “the unveiling” but it’s extremely hard to do so when I’m SO excited about it! I actually posted about it a few entries back… and that was already great restraint on my part!
I was dying to make an “under the sea” cake for quite some time now but didn’t have anyone to make it for. Luckily, a friend had referred me to one of her friends and she wanted this cake for her son’s “one month” celebration. I was so excited!
Anyway, long story short, TA DA!
Lots of detail went into this cake because I want people to look at the cake, come back 5 minutes later and find something completely different. Well, not completely different. Not like they will find an African safari cake when they blink… but that’d be pretty cool too!
The picture below is one of my favourite details with the turtle looking surprised at the gold coins spilling out of the treasure chest. And those yellow noodle-like things at the back? They look like french fries… yum!

After a month of secret-keeping, I can finally EXHALE!
Have a wonderful week, everyone!
